Our Story
Where ancient craft meets modern sensibility — jewellery born from patience, passion, and the beauty of the natural world.
The Maker
Aura & Stone began in 2019 when Elena Harwick, a trained goldsmith with a background in fine art, set up a modest bench in her Bath kitchen. What started as a quiet exploration of form and material has grown into a studio practice rooted in intentionality and care.
Elena studied jewellery design at the Birmingham School of Jewellery before honing her skills under master craftspeople in Florence and Copenhagen. Her work draws on classical goldsmithing techniques — hand-forging, stone-setting, and lost-wax casting — combined with a distinctly modern, pared-back aesthetic.
"I want each piece to feel both ancient and entirely new," she says. "Something you could imagine unearthing from the earth, yet perfectly at home in your everyday life."
Our Philosophy
In a world of mass production, we believe there is quiet power in the handmade. Every ring, pendant, and bangle that leaves our workshop carries the marks of the maker's hand — subtle variations that make each piece irreplaceably yours.
We are not driven by seasons or trends. Our collections evolve slowly, each new design emerging only when it feels essential. This unhurried approach means that every piece in the Aura & Stone collection is one we are truly proud of.
The Process
01
Each piece begins as a pencil sketch, inspired by organic forms, architectural details, and the raw beauty of uncut stone.
02
We hand-select every gemstone and work exclusively with recycled gold and silver from certified, ethical refiners.
03
Using traditional techniques — forging, soldering, setting — each piece is shaped entirely by hand in our Bath workshop.
04
Hours of careful polishing, texturing, and final inspection ensure every piece meets our exacting standards before it reaches you.
Materials
We work primarily with recycled 9ct and 18ct gold, sterling silver, and ethically sourced gemstones. Our suppliers are carefully vetted, and we maintain full traceability from mine to workshop.
From the milky luminescence of rainbow moonstone to the deep warmth of Baltic amber, we select stones for their character and individuality. No two are ever quite the same — and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Our packaging is plastic-free and fully recyclable, crafted from FSC-certified materials. Because caring for the planet is not separate from caring about beauty — it is essential to it.
"Jewellery should be a daily reminder of what matters most — beauty, intention, and the quiet confidence that comes from wearing something made with care."
